WELCOME to the GLUES Geoportal

This portal provides access to the GLUES Geodata Infrastructure. The infrastructure is the common data and service platform for the international research program 'Sustainable Land Management'. The provided data pool can be freely used within the program but also by other interested scientists or stakeholders (please have a look at the conditions of use of the data you are interested in). Researchers of the Sustainable Landmanagement projects can use the Geodata Infrastructure to disseminate and share their project results [GLUES GDI Factsheet]. These are some of the themes the GLUES Geodata Infrastructure provides data for:

Land use,

climate change,

economic change,

water resources and use,

biodiversity

and

ecosystem services

The map shows information about the areas investigated by the GLUES regional research projects.

GLUES Project Background

GLUES (Global Assessment of Land Use Dynamics, Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Ecosystem Services) is a coordination project of the international research program 'Sustainable Land Management' of the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Within this funding measure twelve so called regional collaborative projects (RPs) are researching the impacts of climate and socio-economic changes and a corresponding optimization of the use of land and natural resources in different countries and regions. For an effective synthesis of research results the underlying base scenarios and the data sets must be disseminated and shared between the involved research institutions. Within the framework of GLUES the Professorship of Geoinformation Systems of the Technical University Dresden is implementing a Geodata Infrastructure (GDI) to facilitate this interdisciplinary data exchange between the scientists of GLUES and the RPs.

GLUES GDI @ Status conference April 2013 (GLUES GDI Team @ 08.04.2013 10:00:48)
The GLUES GDI team is organizing a session at the Status conference Sustainable landmanagement and will present the GLUES geoportal and geodata infrastructure at the market place of the conference. The summary of the session and the presentations is listed below: Summary The regional projects and GLUES have developed different tools and services to support [...]
Updated statistics (GLUES GDI Team @ 05.04.2013 15:25:59)
The GLUES geoportal and the geodata infrastructure components are used by scientist as well as stakeholders and interested citizens. The new statistics about the usage, popular search terms and metadata entries is avaliable here.
Technological Updates (GLUES GDI Team @ 15.03.2013 14:21:40)
The applications of the GLUES geodata infrastructure (GDI) as well as the GLUES geoportal have been updated to Javascript libraries Dojo 1.8 and OpenLayers 2.12. If you have any questions about this update or about the usage of the applications, please contact the GLUES GDI team.
New global datasets for climate change and land use available (GLUES GDI Team @ 26.02.2013 10:11:53)
In the last few weeks the GLUES partner produced further climate change and land use datasets. These model results are available via GLUES GDI as web map service and download links. Further, the descriptions of these datasets are summarized in the metadata catalog. Now, the metadata catalog has about 2400 entries that describe datasets, services [...]
